No, seriously, who's dog is this, and why is it in your apartment? You stand there, half-asleep and half-dressed, watching as he goes to town on the leftover pizza you were saving for tomorrow. Are dogs allowed to eat cheese? A quick Google search reveals that no, dogs can't eat cheese, and you're assuredly going to end up with dog vomit in your carpet. Having to clean that up almost sounds as bad as having to remove all the asbestos in the walls... Y'know, almost.

"Relax, Shredder!" The Espathra grins, you think. You can't really tell, because of it having a beak for a mouth and all. Either way, it takes a few steps towards the pup, using its psychic power to pull down its sunglasses and look over them at you. "You're thinking too small. Let me talk to him! I'll cut us a deal."

"Cut us a deal?" You sound equal-parts aghast and amused by the prospect. "You're going to bargain with a literal stray who broke into my house? What are you going to offer it, more of my food?"

"It's quite simple: I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse."

"What the fuck? What is this, some sort of Mafia City?" Howard shouted from the bowels of Slateport, a port city filled to the brim with damnation, drugs, and depravity. He had smuggled artifacts out of this city for years., but he often forgot how disgusting this section of Slateport was.

There were countless Team Rocket dealers, mobsters, and drug addicts running around, committing crimes, going from level one crook to level ten million druggie.

"Alright, c'mere doggy..." Howard produced a chew bone from his pocket in order to convince a pack of Mabostiff to accept him as their leader. He would become his own boss! With a pack of dogs, he could finally take over Team Rocket and turn declan walsh into a chew toy.

"Woof woof... Eh?" The pack of beasts bared their teeth and lunged.

The cities really needed to get their whole wild pokemon debacle under control. First the Rotom that were causing havoc to Lilycove and its department store, now Slateport? Come on, now.

Schuyler slowly but surely began to approach one of the Mabostiffs. He could see why so many people liked the dog pokemon. It gave a certain Aura that someone like a mafia don in movies would have. With these things running amok though, it's not like the residents could get much sleep, Schuyler included. So he did what anyone who had issues calming a dog down and threw it a treat. The Mabostiff lunged into the air to catch the chunk of beef jerky that the writer threw its way.

"You can have all you want if you and your buddies keep the noise down," he attempted to bargain.

when nikola read online that parts of slateport are bring overrun by mabostiff and their kin, nikola hurried over on their togekiss. they have something of an interest in uncommon phenomena, wanting to experience them and then log them in their personal encyclopedia (the one that exists only in their head). more importantly, they want to make sure that mafiosos like team rocket don't go wild with poaching the poor creatures. they'd likely only use them for more nefarious purposes.

nikola sets themself up to watch the interactions between the dog pokemon. they write a few notes here and there, but it seems the canines have already been disturbed and are on their guard for any other intruders. the only thing to do, then, is to wait for one of them to break off from the group so nikola can catch it.

once this happens, the battle is easy, thanks to their togekiss's advantageous typing. they throw a pokeball, hoping the pokemon's been weakened enough to capture it.
